This collection of poems by Sheila Kingsberry-Burt addresses contemporary topics such as poverty, race, spirituality, patriotism, love, and relationships. Dubbed "SKB" by her peers, Kingsberry-Burt was born in Brooklyn, NY. Having lived numerous places in her life, she loved and was a proud resident of rural Warren County, North Carolina. She has been so many things to so many people including a preacher, teacher, advocate, grassroots organizer, and mother to name a few things. Her poetry speaks of many of her difficult life experiences, but encourages all to persevere and have faith. Having endured some debilitating strokes years ago, she currently resides in a nursing facility. However, her voice still speaks volumes.
