On a Pirate Ship

Got this book for two of my grandsons ages 3 & 5. Both boys enjoy the details in the pictures in the book and they've had some interesting conversations with their mother about being pirates. The five year old is very much into pirates.

Perfect pirate story

Nice book. Great illustration. My 3 year old loves pirates and this is perfect for him to get a surface level feeling of what pirates do without all of the bad stuff. It's a fun book.

Ahoy Mateys!

This was the perfect story to read to pre-schoolers during Pirate week. They loved it. The illustrations were bright and appealing. The text was rich with vocabulary. I recommend it.

AWESOME!

My son received this book from my sister for his first birthday in March. It is adorable! The illustrations are great, brightly colored and really cute! The story is simple and straight-forward and really, just adorable! I love the line about the pirates celebrating with "hot, spicy drinks". My two year old daughter also loves it! It is the favorite, go to book for both my son and daughter. My daughter recites it line by line. I also love the hard cover which feels soft (if that makes any sense!). Since receiving this book, I have purchased "On the Seashore", "On the Moon", and "The Dinosaur" and both of my kids LOVE these also! Great book, highly recommended!!!

My twin sons love it!

My twin sons are 5 years old, and they love the book. They demand that this book be read before bedtime every night, and they act out each scene time and time again. The story line is clear and straight-forward, and the words are simple enough for them to recognize (at least some). The illustrations are vivid and brightly colored. My sons imagine themselves being the boy standing next to the captain. If my sons love it, I love it too.
