This book is written to share my journey over a decade. I never thought I would have to stick a needle in my belly with a nurse in the room looking over my chart and recording my vitals and encouraging me to do so. I didn't think that I would fall down and not be able to get up although I was not intoxicated, had no broken bones, or over the age of 35. I love milkshakes, but I never thought I would contemplate having to survive on them not due to choice but due to necessity. If reading that you feel you don't understand, what happened, neither did I. This highlights some of the ups and downs of that journey and pain, discomfort, loneliness, that accompanied, as well as the joy, my acknowledge "wins" and a new perspective on being grateful and not taking the little and big things for granted.
