Omar and his family travel to a different location for each of these culinary adventures. The travel fiction aspect is enhanced with descriptions of actual sites, restaurants, bookstores, galleries and shops-including sketches, favorite lists and recipes. Diversity in race, religion, culture, language and sexual orientation not only exists within Omar's family, it is celebrated in these tales. Each Omar T book is independent, you do not need to read them in the order of their publication, though, as the collection grows, there are more references between the novels.
While in SALT LAKE CITY, Omar finds himself in the middle of a kidnapping as well as some interesting Mormon history. It turns out that his aunt and uncle have family heritage that date back to the original Mormon apostles. History and some artifacts from the 'Wild West, ' prove to be of great value and some controversy.
