Sixteen-year-old Moonstone lives in California, or at least what is left of it.
Most of the world has been destroyed; there are only four cities left in the entire U.S., and the population has basically dwindled to nothing, all because of wars.
Now, things are different; traditional wars are a thing of the past, and a new era of worldly battles has come forth. The Olympic Wars. A series of games, pitting two countries together, meant to test the mental, physical, and soul of an "OW" team, until all members of one country are dead. Only then can the opposing team be deemed the winner.
Moonstone and her twin have just aged into the draft, and although it is rare for someone so young to be drafted, somehow Moonstone finds herself competing for Team USA in the Olympic War. Now she must find a way to protect the ones she loves, make it out of the war alive, and keep her soul intact.
But when a series of unfortunate events leads to her discovering some dangerous secrets about the inner workings of the Olympic War, she soon learns she has a lot more enemies than the ones on the other side of the field.
