Nigeria is sadly a country that exhibits bad governance and poor leadership at almost all levels. On the other hand, it is also a nation that has given birth to great men and women, who took the name of Nigeria to higher heights through their exemplary achievements in their different callings. The gap that exists today between our inspiring past and our disheartening present is partly created by the absence of a leadership culture that can be passed from one generation of leaders to another. This author believes that we can build a leadership culture only if we consciously document the uplifting achievements of our past citizens and expose present and future generations to the same through teaching. This is the way to redirect our feet to the path of national greatness.
