Twins, Sofia and Catarina, had a peaceful childhood and life until the only family they knew, their grandfather Ovid, mysteriously declines. With their grandfathers death, truths and mysteries behind their families' past come to the surface.

Following their grandfather's wishes, Catarina and Sofia, travel to Italy to discover the truth behind their parents' deaths and their absent family, with only a locket left from their mother to guide them.

When the girls find a keyhole with the same seal as their locket, they are mysteriously thrust into a world of Roman mythology, where the stories are real and the gods and demigods very dangerous. The twins are met by handsome demigods, who hide them from their fearsome leader, but when the power of the twin's lost family is discovered not even the handsome demigods can shield them.

Sofia and Catarina must decide, do they forget all they have learned about themselves and go back to their lives, or do they embrace their new power and fight for themselves and the people of this new world.
