I was telling my sister, Betsy, a story about our Dad one morning and she said, "Ralph, I wish you'd write a story about that." As time passed and the stories continued, she would more frequently say, "I wish you'd put that story on paper." Betsy kept after me, and I eventually started writing. The stories seemed to be well accepted, so I put them into a bound 200 page manuscript and gave them to family members and a few friends as Christmas gifts. This eventually led to my first published book, Russia: A Personal Odyssey. Friends and family members continued to encourage me and it led to this book, Oleralf's Musings, a compilation of stories that I've written over the past couple of years, mostly about my own experiences of "stuff that just happens." It is my desire that they bring a smile to your face or even a LOL for the humorous ones, and maybe a tear will trickle down your cheek as you read some of the more poignant ones. oleralf
