This volume of newspaper clippings attempts to fill in some of the gaps where the Cullman Alabama Tribune is missing issues in the early years. It also contains abstracts of other Cullman papers which published during the same timeframe. The Tribune began publishing in 1875, but no issues can be located until March of 1877 through January of 1878. No other issues are available until January of 1887, except for two issues from 1884. Most of 1887 is available but all of 1888 is missing and many issues of 1890 are gone. This volume also contains abstracts from other Cullman newspapers such as the Southern Immigrant from 1878 and 1882; Cullman Progress from 1886; Mountain City Gazette from 1896 to 1898; People's Protest from 1893 to 1899; and the Hanceville Hustler, 1901 - 1905, and 1907 and part of 1908. This book will be of value for the Cullman County researcher looking for items which are otherwise missing from Cullman's first newspaper, the Alabama Tribune.
