The "Portrait of America" series is a wonderful introduction for pre-teens to the 50 states and to the places and events that shaped the history of the United States. This "Ohio"installment is particularly good. The book is broken down into sections like "History", "Culture", "Economy" etc., and each section is thoughtfully written and edited. The "History" section is especially good and is very inclusive. Primary school educators will find this book, as well as all the others in the series, a great teaching tool
Good Supplimentary Source of Facts

The book itself is rather short and does not go into too much detail. However, it lists all major events in the founding of Ohio. Great as a supplimentary source of information.
