Open, honest, moving and inspiring.

I just finished this book a few minutes ago and had to write a review. I've never done this before, but am feeling moved to do so now because of the sincerity and depth of this volume. It really touched me. It's funny, I almost didn't buy this one because I thought it would be a "chick book". I'm glad I did, since I feel shifted and changed for the better from being included in such and open and honest account of one person's growth. I started out this read as a complete stranger and now I feel like the author is a friend of many years. I have to admit, I found some of the early part of the book not fun to read. Her childhood was more difficult than mine by far, and part of me resisted the details. However, the second half of the book is so excellent that I'm extremely glad I stuck with it all the way. Don't get me wrong, it's not a Hollywood ending, but it is deeply positive. I'm inspired by Angela and her story. I'm inspired to look more honestly at my fears and doubts and to move past them in truly healthy ways. Now I'm faced with the task of deciding which of three people to lend this book to who I know will be touched and shifted too. Finally, I want to recommend this book because it's a truly fine blend of cutting edge psychology, healing techniques and profound spiritual teachings.

A True Blessing

This book helped me get past a very difficult time in my life. I felt like my own words were on the pages I was reading. This book gives hope to women who think that their story may be just a bit too difficult to fully disclose. It is real, it is raw, and it changed my life. I am on my second reading of this book and I know it will not be the last. Thank you Angela for sharing such a beautiful gift with the world and for having the courage that most of us thought we didn't have.

Awesome Story!

Great book about how one person's experiences shaped and formed her true self. Teaches how the decisions one makes in life, affects our total being in ways that cannot even be imagined. Her totally honest storytelling show us that we each need to be open to what life brings us, to learn from our experiences and not hide from them. I would recommend this highly to anyone on the path to higher realization. Very enlightening.

A roadmap towards healing and self discovery

From the moment I began this book I felt as if I was sitting on the sofa listening to a dear friend tell her story. This book is bursting with inspiration, guidance and encouragement. I found myself deeply appreciating the author's ability to vulnerably share vivid and detailed experiences (some of which were very moving in there intensity) while at the same time guiding her readers to the greater spiritual lessons she found present in all her life challenges and experiences. It is a thorough road map of a 'woman's journey toward's self discovery'. Being a woman on my own journey of self discovery, I found myself empowered by knowing there are other women out there doing the same and succeeding! While I might not relate to all the specifics she shares in her book I did find I related to almost all the core issues that she faced and I do believe they are issues that are common to almost all women today. From start to finish this is a book that tenderly shares personal pains and triumphs, specifically illuminates healing options/approaches/techniques, and exuberantly proclaims the joys of persevering in one's quest to finding spiritual peace and wholeness. This is a beautiful memoir, one I am certainly glad I took the time to read.
