The last eight years of projects from the Brussels-based architecture firm fruitfully merging theory and praxis
The three new volumes of OFFICE comprise the second installment of an ongoing survey series dedicated to the projects of the Brussels-based architecture firm. Established in 2002 by architects Kersten Geers (born 1975) and David Van Severen (born 1978), OFFICE's projects vary in scale and type, ranging from furniture to urban design. Current projects under construction include Aerospacelab Megafactory in Charleroi, Belgium, and the Swiss Radio and Television building in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Volumes 4-6 pick up where the first three ended, showcasing a selection of projects made by OFFICE over the past eight years. Maintaining the same systematic and chronological mode of presentation, the volumes chronicle the firm's evolving practice and illuminate the developmental processes behind recent constructions. The volumes feature photographs shot by Bas Princen, Stefano Graziani and Giovanna Silva, as well as essays by architectural historians and an interview with American artist Rita McBride.
