"Office Emails" offers up a unique blend of useful etiquette and fun reading. The book is geared toward business application but has priceless gems for the everyday emailer like the "Top Ten Don'ts. " Here are a few: Don't send emails without greetings or closings. Don't label emails as urgent that aren't. Don't send private or confidential info over email. Don't spam. If people just adhered to these four I'd be quite pleased. This book is full of clear concise descriptions and examples of proper email techniques as well as great quotes and inciteful prose on digital communication. For example, Mr. Dworkin says: "Instant messaging is to email what the telephone was to the telegraph... One of the useful differences between instant messaging and voice is the availability of a conversational history. Every IM conversation is akin to having a personal court stenographer. Gone are the disputes about what was said. What a great book! Even as a long time user of email, every once in a while a protocol question would come up - and there hasn't been anywhere to get a good answer. Now there is! Well organized and well researched, this easy to use book covers all the questions you have - and more. The examples are entertaining and instructive. Each time I pick it up for one answer - I end up reading 3-4 pages and finding more hints on using email properly!

I've been lost in the email-jungle for sometime now and this book has really sorted everything out for me! There have been many times in the office where I've been confused on how to effectively and appropriately email my supervisor and co-workers. I keep this book on my desk to use as a reference in any troubling email situation. I would recommend this book for any senior executive trying to maintain an effective and pleasant office enviornment and for any junior level executive trying to climb the corporate ladder.
