The city of Starweald is located in the treetops, and the mysterious surface (if it even truly exists) is obscured by a permanent layer of fog. Taryn Oractiz, a rule-oriented soldier employed by the tyrant king, is kept busy providing for her family and fighting off the fog monsters that regularly terrorize the city.
When tragedy strikes and Taryn's sister falls ill to a plague threatening Starweald, she must go against her instincts and enlist the help of a criminal who is rumoured to have forbidden knowledge about a cure.
