Of the New and Final Heart. Mystic Poetry (Independently Poetry, 2023), is the English translation, made by Dr. Mark McGraw, of one of the most recent books written by the Chilean poet, psychologist and academic, Dr. Luis Cruz-Villalobos, who He has an extensive literary work in poetry, psychology and spirituality, with more than seventy books published. "Abu Yazid was suffering, but he did not know why. To everyone who drew near to him, he would ask: "Do you know any remedy for the ailment from which my heart suffers?" Some would respond, "Eat of this." And others, "Drink of that." One time, a person who was on a pilgrimage went to visit him. Abu Yazid asked him and the man said, "I have read in some writings that when God wants to take a lover, He snatches away the heart, and abandons him in fear and nostalgia, in order that he be illuminated. Once purified, God makes him feel love for Him and He loves him in return. In these words, he found the answer to his suffering. The visitor added, "When I arrived, I left my packsaddle next to the camel and came straight to see you; I would have spoken to you anyway, whether you would have asked me to or not. In this way, Abu Yazid understood that the sickness of his heart came from the nostalgia for God and the longing for the Truth. And he gained the contact and proximity that permitted him to worship God and to serve his cause, wherever he was able." Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi
