Of Skin and Bones is a book of verse about living from the 1930's to 2013. The divisions may seem arbitrary but they are arranged to portray life in the dependent years from birth to age twenty-one in Roots; the independent years as a single woman in Trunk; the married-with-children years in Branches; and the emptied-nest and maturation in Flowering. It was published as a gift of respect, love, and gratitude to the poet's blood kin -parents, siblings, and children.
