Charlie Munger calls Andy Kilpatrick #1 Buffett fan correctly

During Charlie Munger's 2007 WESCO annual meeting in Pasadena , Mr. Munger was asked who was the number one Warren Buffett fan in the world. Out of the unlimited number of possibilities, Mr. Munger (Buffett's long time partner who runs Berkshire with Buffett) responded quickly "Andy Kilpatrick without a doubt". Andy's latest two volume Buffett biography/Berkshire chronology is a work of absolute genius. A master of details and amusing anecdotes, Kilpatrick keeps the reader entertained over the entire odyssey of Buffett's life and unparalled success in the investment world. Unlike other Buffett writers like Roger Lowenstein whose books have now become dated and stale, Andy Kilpatrick keeps us up to date on all that is important in the life of Berkshire Hathaway and Warren Buffett. The 2008 Cosmic Edition is a "must have" for all serious Buffett fans and students. Readers will love the color photos in this latest edition. Like "The Oracle of Omaha" himself, Andy Kilpatrick gets better writing about this American icon with every new edition. Kudos to "The Sage of Birmingham", Andy Kilpatrick !!!!

The definitive guide to all things Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway

I still remember the joy I felt discovering the 1996 edition of this book. I am an avid Warren Buffett fan, and was hungry to find information on Warren and his company, Berkshire Hathaway. I had trouble finding a good source of information on Buffett until I stumbled on an old used copy of Of Permanent Value, the 1996 edition. It was years old and thus wasn't up to date, but was everything I was looking for. I have owned the last four latest editions since that discovery, so that I am always kept up to date. OPV gets a makeover for 2007...switching to a two volume format to encompass the huge amount of updated information on BRK. I must say, this new format was a long time coming, as the bindings are much better than on the 2006 version, which was huge! This latest version has updates on everything from Hurricane Katrina to the new Iscar purchase, to Warren hanging out with LeBron James. While containing all of the latest updates, this book also retains all of the information it always had going back to the earliest days of BRK -- complete with copies of the actual paperwork drawing up the original Buffett Partnership! There really is no comparison to any other book out there, as no other book comes close to offering the breadth of information on Warren Buffett. This book even has his first tax return, which he filed at age seven. While this is a very thick set of books, it doesn't have to be read from cover to cover. The book is split into 355 separate sections, with a detailed table of contents making it easy to skip to the section you want to read. It doesn't flow from cover to cover...so at this point I think of it more as a reference, like an encyclopedia on Warren and Berkshire, where you skip to any subject in which you are interested. This book also includes the extracurricular activities surrounding Buffett, including the Yellow BRKers fan club and the shareholder's meetings. I like to sit down and re-read a good chunk of the latest issue before the shareholder's meetings to get fired up. I actually learn new things every time I read a section, because there is so much there. It's also fun to take to the shareholder's meetings, because the author is usually in the exhibit hall and will autograph your copy.

Outstanding annecdotes on the Oracle

Warren Buffett, the American Icon, is captured beautifully in these 1500some pages. The book is a haphazard collection of notes, annecdotes, rumors and stories of the Oracle himself. It contains much of the traditional folk wisdom of the man, as well as much of the lore you probably haven't heard yet. At 1500 pages, there's something for everyone. The book is a must for any member of the cult of Warren.

The best Buffett book ever written

This new edition is the most comprehensive and compelling history of Berkshire Hathaway and it's officers, owners and hundreds of people who have invested in, run, benefitted, admired, nurtured, or otherwise influenced the life of Warren Buffett, as well as countless other people, factors and strategies responsible for the unprecedented and still relentless growth of one of the most successful corporate enterprises of all time. 272 quick-reading chapters cover just about every facet of the Buffett mistique, personality, thought process and lifestyle. The investment executive author and former journalist nails down all the whos, hows, wheres, whens, whys and hows relating to this remarkable man from his youth through the 2004 Berkshire Annual Meeting which brought 20,000 enthusiastic shareholders to Omaha this past May. The best book about Warren Buffett

I only only finished 77 pages of this book. It was by far the best book about Warren Buffett. I had read "The Warren Buffett's Way" and "Buffettology". Bill, a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder
