great for young readers

With pictures on each page, this book strikes an even tone on mice -- some people keep them as pets, others want to get rid of them. The differences between Rats and Mice are discussed briefly and a variety are discussed in more detail (brown/black/water rats). The narration also touches on birth. A representative page text: "Rats are very strong for their size. They are excellent climbers and can leap quite far. They can even swim." A nice simple text for kids interested in reading about rodents.
