This book has an amazing story universe. showing not only the magic that is just around the corner and hidden in plain sight of the mundane but also the depth of danger a world of supernatural and monsters could bring. This book has a interesting dynamic between charlotte and Valek as charlotte tries to figure out who she wants to be in this occult world she was raised in and that this darkly magical world she's always know may not be what is seems and friends she's know her whole life may not be who she thought. Dark, magical and showing the more blood thirsty side of vampires and supernatural beings of light and darkness is an amazing journey through the occult city of Czechoslovakia.
