A Basic Princess x Princess Novel

It was okay. The world and the characters needed more fleshing out — and one of the main character love interests is insufferably anti-feminist despite this presumably being a girl power novel.

Sweet f/f fantasy romance

Of Fire And Stars is a fantasy novel involving two princesses in love, magic, and horses. I loved this book a lot. The slow burn romance was fantastic and had me squealing and eager to read the next page. I loved Mare and Denna as characters and I was rooting for them to get what they wanted in the end. I loved the side characters and especially that Mare and Denna weren't the only gay characters. There were a couple others that set how this universe has no homophobia (which a really nice change of pace). It was interesting to read a fantasy novel with politics as one of the main focuses of the kingdom. However, the ending did feel a bit rushed (but it did manage to tie up most loose ends so I can't fault it for that) and getting into the politics was a bit challenging at first, but I managed it in the end. I still very much enjoyed reading the novel and would recommend it to anyone who wants a sweet f/f fantasy romance.

I loved the way she developed the romance, and while the characters could have use some slightly better development themselves, it was still a great book, that had me rooting for the couple the whole way <3
