The OECD's Development Assistance Committee (DAC) conducts peer reviews of individual members once every five to six years. Reviews seek to improve the quality and effectiveness of members' development co-operation, highlighting good practices and recommending improvements. Strategic multilateral partnerships and political leadership to reduce poverty and inequalities have contributed to Finland's strong reputation as a partner for sustainable development. With new policies in 2024 emphasising support for Ukraine and the more explicit use of development co-operation to boost the international presence of Finnish companies, this review outlines recommendations to safeguard Finland's leadership in global sustainable development.
