With her, he fathered Tyndareus, Icarius and Hippocoon (or, according to Apollodorus, he fathered them with the Naiad, Batia), as well as a daughter, Arene, who married her half-brother Aphareus. Oebalus is often confused with Gorgophone's first husband, Perieres, son of Aeolus. They are separate people, usually unrelated though Oebalus is sometimes said to be Perieres' son.
