Excellent guide for exam 1Z0-147

Amazing...great..those are the words for this book which i recently used for 1z0-147 exam which i passed with score 63/66. After lot of research i used this book for 1z0-147 and i happily confirm that i made great choice. Most of the topics required for exam are covered except LargeObjects(LOB). Thanks a lot Steve for wonderful job.!!!!!!!

Good reference for the IZ0-147 exam

I used this book as one of my study guides for the new IZ0-147 "Oracle 9i: Program with PL/SQL" exam which I recently passed. This is an excellent book that covers many of the concepts found in the IZ0-147 exam. It, of course, does not cover everything needed for the IZ0-147 exam. Some things to look up elsewhere include LOBs, side effects (sql stmts calling functions are covered well in the book), and the 'call' command used in a trigger.

Very helpful

I used this to pass the PL/SQL OCP. These books are not for learning SQL and PL/SQL, these books are to prepare for the exams. But this PL/SQL book has chapters that teach PL/SQL very well, and a lot of material to cover the language if you have not worked with it before. I like the sample questions at the end of every section and chapter, they helped me a lot. The longer practice exams in the back are very very good, and I found them to be a lot like the questions on the exam. I had trouble with the CD, but the book was very good. I recommend it to anyone taking the exam. Since this book is from Oracle, I think it is best choice for taking the Oracle exams.

A very good preparation tool

I studied in this book and passed the PL/SQL exam. Nearly everything you need to know is in this book. For only two questions out of 57 the answer was not in the book but for one of them the answer could be guessed. There is a chapter about Procedure Builder which is not in the test content checklist and I had no question about it. The practice questions are very good but there is a bug in the Quizzer found on the CD-ROM. Some questions are evaluated False, but the explanation says otherwise. When in doubt check the paper version which is always accurate.

Great preparation for the 1Z0-101 OCP exam

For me this book worked for the OCP exam (53/57 questions correct in 32 minutes). With this book it took me 1 week to prepare for this exam (weekday evenings and most of the weekend).If you want to do the PL/SQL program units exam this book is definitely the book to go for. I did not find any errors in this book. In the test questions from ORACLE I found no questions that was not explained in the book in a very understandable form.Beeing a not native speaker I can not really comment on the style of writing but I found it very readable.This book mentions one very import thing about the exam: read the questions first and than read the source code. I found that sometimes you actually do not need the (lengthy) source code in order to answer the questions.
