This book makes oblivion fun

Oblivious had one of the most wonderful characters in Olivia that I have run into in quite a while. While she could top Mrs. Malaprop and Rev. Spooner with her wacky vocabulary, she remained charming, funny, and moral. How refreshing! I recommend this book highly. Margaret Kelly

A must read!

I won't go into a review of this book for others have already done so. I'll just reiterate that this was a delightful read; a book I couldn't put down until finished. This genre is definitely Ms. Depre's niche. Adding mystery and romance with humor, plus the homeiness of a small town, one is totally captivated. Having read this author's first book, "Amanda's Rib", I find Ms. Depre's writing only gets better. This is an author to watch... she is going places!

Charming. Witty, a super 5-star read

A charming story with a likeable heroine and a small-town mystery, this book was a complete delight to read. Olivia Chatham is pure innocence. She sees only the good in people, and loves to help out in any way she can. Recently moved back in with her parents in Chatham, a town named after one of her great grandfathers, she begins to make her normal daily rounds. Her rounds consist of popping in and out of assorted businesses and restaurants to see how the townfolk are doing and if they need anything. Not that she would bestow charity on anyone. Things just seem to happen to good folk. After all, Olivia believes she was just born lucky. When she was born in April, her parents named her January 8th. Lucky for Olivia, they changed it to Olivia Aron the next morning. Named after the king of rock, she is a cheerful, kind person with a heart of pure gold. When a murder shocks the small town, Olivia wants to help. She meets a new mysterious stranger who suddenly comes to town. The stranger was one of the last people to be seen with the unfortunate victim. Tucker Monroe chose the small town of Chatham to get away from a romance that suddenly turned sour. He enjoys learning about the new town and the closeness of the townspeople. He finds that Olivia is part of his alibi, and the crime soon has them working closely together. With the help of Josie, Olivia's best friend, and Tucker, Olivia is hot on the case! With Tucker trying to keep up and protect her so she doesn't get into trouble, they are soon snooping around and asking questions to find out who the perpetrator is. They narrow their suspect list down to just a few suspicious citizens. One is the new reverend and the other is one of Olivia's ex-husbands. Sleuthing and barely getting out of scrapes, they collect their stories and evidence, and start to piece the puzzle together. With witty charm, and heart-warming anecdotes, this story is so delightful. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is captivating. I would highly recommend this to anyone. I can only hope there are more Olivias in the world-making it a much better place. Everyone would be smiling, as I was throughout this wonderful book. 5 stars

When Tucker Monroe needs an alibi after a woman he spent a slight amount of time with is killed, Olivia Chatham is his salvation, but the slightly daffy seeming, much married young woman is not content to just do that for him. Convinced not only of his innocence, but that Tucker is nursing a broken heart that seeing justice for the woman he loved done can help heal, Olivia sets out to solve the case, with Tucker and her sister in reluctant tow. As he works with her, Tucker realizes she might be different, but it's a good different, and she's far brighter than she lets on. Despite his anti-marriage stance, Olivia gets to him. However, as the case unravels, things get dangerous and the future turns iffy. ***** This is a laugh out loud masterpiece. Wholly clean, it intrigues you and keeps you smiling from beginning to end. Olivia is utterly charming and I hope this is only her first outing as a sleuth. I love this book and it goes on my virtual keeper shelf. ***** Amanda Killgore for Huntress Reviews

My favorite heroine

Livy isn't one to take no for an answer and when Tucker Monroe and the police specifically say they don't need any help, well, what girl would listen? The murder of a college professor has the small town reeling, and Livy's nutty brain working overtime. Can she unravel the mystery so she can lay claim to Tucker's heart or will the murderer strike again making Livy his or her next victim? Livy is sweet, nutty, intelligent and belly-howling funny. The town is so charming, I'd move there next week if it were real. The book is a fast read and will leaving you asking just one question -- When will Ms. Depre grace us with the next installment? Please write more and FAST! A real winner!
