The first part of the Prelude series, this book contains the original first three poems written by "Oblivious", as well as the complete Asylum series of poems. "Oblivious", an alias I created at 15-years-old so that none of my peers would know that I write poetry (also, because I thought it sounded pretty cool), is a regular high school student. While everything around his life says that he should be content with how events around him are turning out, he can't help but feel distressed. Common occurrences feel like life threatening death sentences as the every day struggle toward understanding who he is as a person becomes more difficult than he anticipated. To keep from exposing himself and burdening others with his problems, he turns to writing after watching Rudy Francisco perform on TV. This first mini-anthology is full of his first attempts at entering the world of poetry.
