She finds out things about her family that shocks her as the book progresses. Annie runs into her High School flame, Damian, more mystery happens. Feelings for Brad grows and then dwindles and grows again. Annie's best friend, Dorie, comes to visit from college and helps with exploring the underground cave. Ghost appears in the underground library, and a purple gem that fuels electricity, and a time machine.
