The poems depicted in this book tell a love story. A love story that starts with the protagonist facing the biggest storm of her life. That's when she meets the captain who lures her to his ship. Although she intuitively knew his ship was a wreck, she still decides to embark on this journey.

During her expedition, she breaks the infatuation curse she had cast on herself, in an attempt to heal deep grief. But at the moment she almost lost her life at the shore, she finds herself, finally rescuing herself from codependency. She then becomes the captain of her own life, assuming the commands of her ship and learning how to navigate the sea of life.

Written from September 2020 to May 2022, O My Captain Now You Lead is a collection of poems about childhood trauma, grief, loss, passion, betrayal, resentment, codependency, and self-love.
