Nuttie's Father

By Charlotte Mary Yonge

Book Overview

""Nuttie's Father"" is a novel written by Charlotte M. Yonge. The story revolves around Nuttie, a young girl who is forced to leave her home in the country to live with her father in the city. Nuttie's father, Mr. Egremont, is a cold and distant man who is more interested in his political career than in his daughter. Nuttie struggles to adapt to her new life, but finds solace in her friendship with Lady Kirkaldy, a kind and caring woman who takes Nuttie under her wing. As Nuttie begins to uncover the secrets of her family's past, she learns that her father's political ambitions have caused him to make some questionable decisions. With Lady Kirkaldy's help, Nuttie sets out to right the wrongs of her family's past and bring her father back to the loving and caring man he once was. ""Nuttie's Father"" is a heartwarming tale of family, friendship, and redemption that will captivate readers of all ages.Miss Mary did not think a yacht a likely place for the conversion of a croon into a pound, and the utter silence of mother and aunt did not seem to her satisfactory; but she feared either to damp the youthful enthusiasm for the lost father, or to foster curiosity that might lead to some painful discovery, so she took refuge in an inarticulate sound. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
