The study is qualitative in nature, with the results discussed in categories: professional (nurse) knowledge about Down's Syndrome; approach to diversity care in nurse (in)training; nurses' understanding of Down's in an infantilised way; care for people with Down's Syndrome in health care networks. This discussion reveals the need for care for patients with Down's Syndrome to meet proposals for health promotion, prevention of possible complications and inclusion of these patients in society, guiding and applying complementary tools (namely play activities) in care that enhance the approach to this public.
