MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Nurse Mommy certainly doesn’t enjoy leaving her home and family all night when she goes to work, but she has a very important job that helps people when they are sick. She is usually on her feel most of the night as she goes from room to room taking care of her patients. We should all be thankful for nurses everywhere for their care for us, and sacrificing their time away from their family to do so. Kristyn Boland writes a beautiful story that is so much needed, and one about a job that I don’t see many books written about.
I love love this sweet book. It’s the first one about nurses I have ever read, and one that is so needed the explain to children who’s mom is a nurse what she does when she works. I sure am glad we have so many woman and men today who went to many years of school to teach them how to take care of those who are sick. This story is so precious, the little one so adorable, your child will will want you to read it over and over to them. And I can’t leave out the oh so adorable illustrations created by Vanessa Alexandre. I love the beautiful cover, with its bright vibrant colors and the characters that are so very cute. The inside of the book is filled with the same adorable and sweet characters with the bright and beautiful background. I love that after you have read Nurse Mommy by Kristyn Boland to your small child for a while, they will be able to look at the pictures and ‘read the story because they have memorized the words. This book is so very well and perfectly written, illustrated and formated, this will be the first book children will pull from shelves anywhere they see it. Nurse Mommy Kristyn Boland is a book that should be in daycare and school libraries, and classrooms as well as anywhere else children will be. Wouldn’t Nurse Mommy be a wonderful gift to Dr. offices and the children’s unit at hospitals? Nurse Mommy is Five Stars for me.
