ISBN 0966455134 - To be honest, it's the ages of the authors of this book that made me give it a fifth star. Alone, it's a four, for teaching counting, for the thick board book pages, for simple text and for okay illustrations. Realizing, however, that the illustrations are crayon drawings (mostly) by kids ranging from 10 to 17 years old, the illustrations are that much more sttractive. From one frog, sitting there, all the way to ten hearts on a dinosaur, Numbers has something extra going for it - illustrations that your child will recognize because the style is the ever-popular Kidism. The shape of the book is nice, although the protruding corner of one eye seems likely to take more damage from banging than the rest of the book. Proceeds go to benefit M. D. Anderson Cancer Center patients, but the book seems to be no longer available new, which is the only acceptable reason to buy it used. It's a cutie, if not a keeper.
