The writer of the book reaches a point in his life - old age - and reflects back. He comes to the understanding that his path in life has been directed by many different individuals over the years. Those people came from financial, occupational, educational, etc., positions. A list of those positions and his top candidate (the one who had most greatly influenced his life) from each was presented. He followed with his reasons for their selection and concluded each chapter with the 'nuggets' he had received from them.Finally, a challenge is given to the reader to choose those who deserve credit for directing their lives. He encourages each to contact those trusted and special people who have helped guide them over the years. Those people are the ones that stand the tallest in our lives and are referred to as mountains through the book - thus, "Nuggets from the Mountains."
