The chilling follow-up to In Dreams . With their last near-death investigation behind them, Detective David Rodriguez and reporter Mari Kinsella must take on another bizarre case-this time a NYC killer who seems to be from another time and place.
Costello is a longtime favorite of mine and this is one of his best. I liked it quite a bit more than I did the previous one in this series, In Dreams. In Nowhere, Detective David Rodriguez and reporter Mari Kinsella are on another bizarre case that seems to defy conventional logic. Murders are happening in New York, but there are no witnesses and no clues. Their investigation leads them to believe that the killer is someone bending the rules of time, space and physics and had been involved in the Jack the Ripper murders and the Black Dahlia atrocity in Hollywood in 1947. Costello uses speculative science in many of his thrillers, as well as oceanography and marine biology, giving them an authentic flavor. Nowhere is suspenseful, intriguing and ingenious. I give it a high recommendation.
