Tal Sinclair, everybody's favorite head usher, and, whether he likes it or not, de facto assistant manager, is getting ready for another summer at Galaxy Cinemas. Usually, that means larger crowds, splashier movies, and of course, the arrival of seasonal employees - a few who will hopefully do some work this time, instead of just being hired to fill the softball team of the actual (and very annoying), assistant manager.
But if Ray the usher is right, like he sometimes is, this summer will be different. Tal's life will take a dramatic turn. Something major is about to happen. Something significant. Only thing is, Tal doesn't exactly know what, when, how, or even if, Ray's prediction will ever happen.
Will the summer of 1980 be a surprise hit, and change Tal's life for good? And possibly, the lives of those he works with? Or will it be like many of the films they show: lots of hype, but ultimately a dud?
