Nathan Karstulovich and Krystal Poggensee, both elementary school teachers, believe that children need to learn perseverence and work toward their own success. Too many children stop with "I can't do it." The answer is, "why not?" This answer helps children think about their situation and learn to determine, for themselves, what blocks the way to success.
Now I Think Y Knot tells the story of Evie and her struggles while camping with her dad. Young Evie, thinking that she's not able to help tie all the knots needed to set-up camp, stomps away, unhappy that her dad is not ready to play and that she can't help around the campsite. While moping about her struggles, Evie learns about the power of believing that she can from an unlikely friend.
With her new found positive attitude, Evie's camping trip takes a turn for the better, leaving Evie to want to learn all the different knots, including the Y knot.
The power of the Y knot will help all children see that their is a way past "I can't" to give everyone the ability to say, "I can do anything!"
