November Rising: A Poetic Journey was published a year before the present volume as a mother's exploration into her own journey through the suicide of her adult daughter, grief, and recovery. When the book was released she had no idea how profoundly it might impact others. As a result of reading her work publicly and sharing her story she came to realize its power to touch so many others, most of whom had not even had a close family member die in such a tragic way. But really, the story is one of love and loss-the stuff of being human that we all share. The present volume retains the most poignant pieces from the original book, but attempts to weave in new wisdom that can only come from experience-the experience of telling the story, touching others, and being touched in return.
