Emotional Rollercoster

Kudos to Shannon...Another great novel. This book will have you laughing, crying, mad, and overjoyed all at the same time. The characters are very believeable. I had a hard time putting this book down, and I can't wait for number three.

WE ALL HAVE THEM

This is the book to read! The description is right when they say it's a roller coaster of emotions. Sedonia Lacey has been through the ringer. Her once stable home was turned upside down. She had to live with family that didn't have her best interest at heart. She then marries Jarvis, a man that saved her from her sad home. Things were great! Well, then she meets the handsome Donnell Glenn and fell in love with her "soulmate". After having to make some huge choices, she chooses her husband and unfortunately let Donnell go. However when she thinks things are good between her and Jarvis again, she finds out that Jarvis has Shannon. Completely devastated, she has to put the pieces to her life together. Sedonia deals with her self awareness, parentage, violence, incarceration, infidelity, HIV, betrayal, friendship, and then love. This girl couldn't get a break! The characters were real to life. Along with the seriousness, there was humor. I mean, I laughed, cried, and got extremely angry. It made me question Monogamy. It's hard to achieve and we all truly have those intentions. All the things you want in a GOOD BOOK! This book had many twists and turns. Things that I thought were going to happen didn't. I was completely trapped in this book. Shannon Davis did it in NOTHING LIKE FRIENDS and now has done it again. Job well done. KUDOS AND 10 STARS!!

AN AWESOME READ!!!!! A MUST HAVE!!!!

Monogamous Intentions was my second book by new author Shannon N. Davis. Her debut was a nice read and her second release fell nothing short of a remarkable book! Monogamous tells a story of main character Sedonia and from the outside looking in you would think she had the perfect life until she meets Donnell a handsome stranger who forever changes her life as well as the life she shares with her husband. In Shannon's sophomore effort she definitely has a winner!! This book deals with real issues of adultery and even the actual epidemic of HIV amongst the African-American community. What is also tackled as a topic is the taboo subject of homosexuality. The ending will definitely have you screaming "Oh my God!" I sat down with this book and did not put it down until I was finished and that was some eight hours later. This book from beginning to end had all the twist and turns of your favorite roller coaster ride. It had the suspense, comedy and drama it was like all of your favorite television shows rolled into one great book! You definitely had the mini movie in your mind going on!
