"Notes from under the Skin" is a fictional journal kept by Brian Miller, who is borderline Asperger's. It recounts his daily struggles being someone with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, from the pain of adolescence to his growing adaptability as he enters adulthood., from feelings of despair to the joy of finding love, from seeing himself as an alien on an incomprehensible planet of "typicals," to finding his place in that world. It can be seen as a prequel to another of my books, "One Teacher's Life," which is a journal Brian keeps as he navigates his way through the teaching profession.
