Clear writing. When he writes about family and friends he is most engaging. His depiction of people is non-judgmental and honest so you immediately have an opinion because his characters are familiar. His love of solitude and reflection is clear. The author's description of the national parks reflect his passion. I look forward to his next book which I hope will center around his observation of the human condition. This was an easy read and made me want to go camping. This book should also be listed under camping guides of which this is one of the best. I have three camping guides on my shelf.
