Almost perfect

Of six crytogram books I ordered this was my second favorite. The letters are large enough to read, the font is easy on the eyes, the puzzles are done well, and the quality of the book is great. I would have preferred to solve the author's name - not only is that half the fun for me, but I love seeing if I can solve the puzzle by author's name before anything else. Also, since it's in book format rather than spiral you do have to hold the book open to the page. Other than those minor inconveniences, it's a definate winner. (My favorite so far is "Cryptograms to Keep You Sharp" edited by Carlton because it's spiral cover - much more relaxing to work in.)

There aren't a lot of cryptogram books out there, so I was really pleased to find this book. It has 500 puzzles in it - four to a page. The quotes are generally serious quotes. Everyone from Henry Kissinger to Bob Dylan. From Pythagoras to Andy Warhol. The puzzles range from Easy to Ultra-Difficult. I agree with another reviewer who said that it would have been more challenging if the authors of these quotes were not named (at least on the more difficult ones.) And I would have loved to have more humorous sayings to decipher. But these can wait for future books. In the meantime, this is a great little cryptogram book and well worth the money.

Best Cryptogram Book

This is the best, most interesting cryptogram book I've purchased, and I have purchased many. Most of the quotes have a single letter or an apostrophe to give you an opportunity to start. This book will give you weeks of entertainment!
