Not Listening and Learning Mom was Right

All of us have been there before when Mom tries to guide you or teach you a life lesson without you having to experience it for yourself. More than likely Mom has already been through a similar situation and has learned throughout her lifetime. I have been on both ends of getting advice from Mom and giving it my children. As a teenager or even as an adult no one wants to take advice from their mother. For some reason we would rather learn from experience and trial and error. This story is about of a girl named Cassie that never wants to listen to her mom's advice. Even though her mother's guidance is within reason and accurate, Cassie must learn by her own experience. She starts as young teenager experiencing the bad things in life. As she gets in a relationship with an older boy, she thinks she is in love, but learns not quick enough that maybe he is not the great boyfriend she thought he once was. She does not listen to her mom and has to learn on her own that she should have listened to her mom. She deals with regret and guilt once her mom and daughter go missing. Cassie realizes eventually that mom is not guiding her in a bad direction and that she should have indeed listened to her mom and while learning this tough life lesson Cassie's life is changed forever.
