Joe is lost in a life he no longer recognizes. After losing his job for assaulting the newest piece of office technology, Joe is forced to find a new job. Too embarrassed to admit to anyone that he was fired, he finds an opportunity that he keeps a secret, in an adult bookstore. Joe's quirky co-worker, Brains, is unapologetic in his dislike for the new guy. His wife, Linda, and two children seem like strangers that just happen to share his house. When Joe's father dies, and his alienated brother re-enters his life, he is forced to sort through the lies he has woven and find new connections with everyone around him. Joe's best efforts are met with comic misadventures as he discovers the value of the truth, that resistance to change is futile, and that life is not always what you expect.
