Pride, Pemberley, and Second Chances When history-loving Olivia Bennett's teaching contract isn't renewed, she is considered her family's logical choice to care for her ailing grandmother in a tiny English village. While there, she soon finds additional work at nearby Hartbury Hall--one of England's great houses once used as Pemberley in a filmed production of Pride and Prejudice. The head gardener there, however, proves to be anything but the gentlemanly hero of that famous book. Little does she know that behind Liam Browne's brusque exterior is both a family tragedy and a legacy that demands truth and honor, creating a crisis that only Liv's vivacious determination can resolve. Along the way, she may just learn that appearances count for naught. . .and that love can be found in unexpected ways.
Not Exactly Mr. Darcy by Carolyn Miller is the first book in her Silver Teapot series. When Olivia Bennett’s teaching contract isn’t renewed, her family decide she is the perfect person in the family to go to England and take care of their ailing grandmother. While there she goes to work at Hartbury Hall; where one production of Pride and Prejudice was filmed. When she meets the head gardener, she realizes that he is no Mr. Darcy! Sparks fly, and she finds out that love blooms in unexpected ways and places, with the most unlikely of people! If your looking for a read full of hope and inspiration then this is the book for you.

Easy read

I love Pride and Prejudice, and this book was so fun to read. Having the main character's name be Bennett was a little on the nose, but I loved the characters, and the scenes were easy to imagine. It's not a complicated read; it's something you can sit back with and read for fun.
Gobsmacking Good

This book took me by surprise as I’m not a big Jane Austin fan but I really enjoyed it. The characters are great with lots of push and pull which ensues with moments that had me laughing and others that had my heart sighing. I loved the originality of the story and I felt like I was walking the halls of Hartbury Hall as well as the paths of the gardens. That regency Christmas ball had me swooning and looking for a fainting couch. Well written story that flows well and ebbs right into your heart. This is the first book in The Silver Teapot series and now I’m anxiously awaiting more. A book of faith, family, secrets, sweet romance, learning to trust, and a village you want to live in. I suggest adding this to your must read pile.
