Not Deer - Human Face: An Appalachian Cryptid Skinwalker Story

By Allyssa Pressman

Some legends do not just haunt the woods. They wear your face.

Rachel Vey inherits an isolated Pennsylvania farmhouse and a terrifying forty-year vigil. Her aunt built a fortress of deadbolts and commercial floodlights to hold back a predator that waits in the tree line. Every night at dusk, a massive buck emerges from the dark woods. It does not graze. It does not run. It watches the house with completely human eyes.

As the perimeter lights fail, Rachel realizes the creature is learning her movements and stealing her voice. When a local boy goes missing, she must venture into the pitch-black wilderness to face a monster that hunts by becoming the people you love.

A gripping dive into backwoods mythology perfect for readers who crave relentless tension and a predator that defies explanation. The trap is set. Discover who is the prey.
