The author, raised in Wild Rose, Wisconsin, was nurtured by an extended family of musicians and story tellers, the Catholic Church, and the 60s.

We raised the flag in the morning and took it down at night. Pledged allegiance and ate goiter pills.

What followed was 70 some years of experiences as varied as the need to put food on the table. Shipping clerk, insurance salesman, roofer, grave digger, firefighter and private investigator. A DD214.
