If the running relay of Sacred Flame at Summer Olympic Games every four years from Greek Olympiad to the Olympic Venue is meant to highlight the common historical destiny of all different peoples and nations on all the different geographical locations; then, the temporal (or historical) meaning of this same relay of the sacred flame can be equated to the history of the mankind's increasing sophistication in their manipulation of 'fire', as the symbol of light, power and knowledge.
