RICHARD LYNTTON was born in London and educated at Exeter University, Moscow State Linguistic University, and Sandhurst. A former British Army captain and tank commander, he later served in Russia and Bosnia with the United Nations and testified before the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife and two sons.
