The crime of murder is as varied as California wines. As the twentieth century winds down a circle of friends taking in the view of the San Francisco Bay raise their glasses to the good life. A love affair is about to be revealed and the jilted spouse is not part of this toast. An abuser, petty dealer, and prone to violence, he is as unwelcomed as the fog rolling in under the Golden Gate. The confrontation comes suddenly and the outcome unforeseen. The collective must act as one while the Oakland police kick into gear. Two old timers on the force get the case. He's white, she's black. She's straight, he's gay. It's the Bay Area 1993 and the 49ers are in the Super Bowl. The East Bay Hills have burned again and the Oakland A's are going for another pennant.
