Victoria Carter lives as an everyday civilian in the Capital, an earth-adjacent Washington DC, engaged to one of the most powerful and beloved Superheroes in the American Empire, Oscar Simmons aka Mr. Hyperion. Things were going great, until he wound up cheating on her and choosing his "nemesis", Vincent Gardner aka Obsidious over her. All the while, Victoria finds herself trapped in a dead relationship for the sake of PR. Things then turn deadly when Vincent decides Victoria is no longer needed, and she has little choice but to accept a deal from a man she knows little to nothing about in order to stay alive.
Slowly, however, she starts to realize that Evan, and the abilities he gave her, aren't exactly what they seem and might be more than she bargained for. Now, Victoria must learn how to properly utilize her strange new powers to protect herself, the ones she loves, and find a way to expose Vincent and Oscar. After all, Superheroes are a protected class in the Empire, and they wouldn't want to see their rising star crash and burn.
