This book truly captures L.A. the way that I know it. I've spent my life driving all over the city, and this book describes it perfectly. Anyone from the Los Angeles area will enjoy it. Also, any book that features Tommy's Burgers is a winner to me!

I can really related to this book! I can totally picture driving on the freeways and the crazy adventures that happen here. I think the author did a great job of showing LA as the regular people see it - it's still quirky, but not unbelievable as it is often portrayed. Anyone who has lived or does live in LA should enjoy this book.

John Bwarie is a new author and Nobody Walks in LA is his first of what I'm sure will be many efforts. This book follows the misadventures of a boy coming of age in LA, a unique experience within itself. Bwarie has an accute attention to detail, while maintaining a fluid plot and thorough characters. Nobody Walks in LA is a great book and a wonderful platform by which Bwarie will continue to develop his skills as a writer.

Bwarie's debut novel is a fast-paced, enjoyable adventure which takes place on the byways of Los Angeles. From the major freeways to smaller side streets, Bwarie's tale of growing up in the City of Angels is as captivating as it is entertaining. I found myself relating to many of the situations in which Bwarie's protagonist, Ben Genarro, was involved, and I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occaision. Anyone who is from Los Angeles or wishes that they were needs to read this book!
A Tour de Force

This book carries the reader away. It was impossible for me to put down once I started; I stayed up until 4 a.m. just to finish it. Bwarie uses a normal day driving through Los Angeles as a metaphor to illustrate the unlimited and varied possibilities that life in LA holds. Bwarie's protagonist Ben is a sympathetic character who reminds me of my and my friend's teenage lives. Bwarie is highly attuned to the thoughts and emotions of young people. I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone.
